Genealogy

Carolyn Johnson Burns is a genealogist and historian who does research in Montgomery County, Ohio and neighboring counties. As a volunteer genealogist for the Dayton VA Medical Center, Carolyn does military and historical research regarding veterans and the National Military Homes. In addition to her duties as publicity officer, program chair and webmaster for the Montgomery County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society, Carolyn teaches a local workshop on “Starting Your Genealogy: Resources in Montgomery County.” She is a member of several genealogical and historical societies. Some of Carolyn’s work was highlighted in the book titled Hey, America; Your Roots Are Showing by Megan Smolenyak, author and consultant for the popular TV show Who Do You Think You Are.
