The Patriot Freedom Festival held on May 26 at the Dayton VA was very successful with approximately 4,000 in attendance. We thank our sponsor, Hospice of Dayton for supporting the Festival again this year!

Our activities included the Children’s Military Educational Program led by our Education Committee Chair, Bridget Federspiel, an award-winning teacher at Stivers High School. Bridget recruited her students to help with the effort. They had 145 children go through the program. Thank you to Dayton Rotary Club for approving a Grant for this successful program!

For the second year, Bridget ran the 2012 Students’ Art Contest. The contest began at the start of school last fall, and the art work was due in November. Submissions from three grade levels were received, and judging too place in January. Jake Daily raised money to support the contest by giving presentations at local VFW’s. Winners were announced at the Festival Opening Ceremony, (which Bridget also planned), and the art was displayed during the Festival.

Thank you Bridget for all that you do!
