Hospice of Dayton , (HOD), provides end-of-life care for patients and their families needing their services. As part of that care, Hospice of Dayton has developed a project to capture the lives of their patients. In keeping with that project, Hospice of Dayton became interested in exploring the Veterans History Project, a federal program in which veterans’ stories are recorded and then stored at the Library of Congress American Folklife Center.
On December 3, 2012, Bridget Federspiel, leader for the Miami Valley Veterans History Project, made a presentation to HOD Managers about the Veterans History Project including how to fill out the paperwork, record with video camera and submit the veterans’ story to the Library of Congress. Bridget is willing to assist until the HOD Veterans History Project is up and running on its own.
Bridget is an award-winning educator in the Dayton City School system, teaching history at Stivers High School.
